Les navires seront construits par HD Hyundai Mipo et leur livraison est prévue à partir de 2028. Les poids lourds de l'industrie se tournent vers le carburant zéro émission Il s'agit de l'une des premières commandes confirmées pour des transporteurs de gaz de taille moyenne (MGC) conçus pour fonctionner à l'ammoniac, soulignant l'engagement des principaux acteurs de l'industrie à décarboniser le transport maritime. Les navires seront équipés de moteurs à ammoniac WinGD et de systèmes de sécurité adaptés pour gérer les défis uniques posés par l'ammoniac. Cette initiative témoigne d'une confiance affirmée dans le rôle durable de l'ammoniac dans le secteur énergétique maritime et renforce l'argument structurel en faveur des investissements dans le segment de l'ammoniac, où le commerce mondial et les infrastructures de l'ammoniac sont prêts à s'étendre.
