Les taux au comptant, qui étaient tombés en dessous de 30 000 $ par jour plus tôt dans l'année, ont maintenant grimpé à environ 40 000 $ par jour. L'infrastructure d'exportation américaine est sur le point de connaître une expansion significative D'après Kristian Sørensen, PDG de BW LPG, la hausse des taux est due aux variations saisonnières des exportations américaines et à une expansion prévue de la capacité d'exportation. Au cours des deux prochaines années, l'infrastructure d'exportation de GPL des États-Unis devrait croître de 25 %, augmentant ainsi l'offre et stimulant la demande de transport.
